Gionee announce its flagship smartphone S8 and according to company the first phone to deliver smiles. It packs with 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display with pressure sensitive 3D touch that can sense 3 levels of force including touch, tap and press. It is powered by an Octa core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) SoC. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo 3.2 and in June it will get Amigo OS 4.0.

“The smiling face on new logo shows our desire to create happiness by developing built-in user-friendly technology and easy-to-use communication tools. By adding emotional elements to our smartphones, we believe our ‘smilephones’ will allow us to maintain a place in the hearts of our consumers and gain a stronger position in the industry.”
The new logo combines the letters “i” and “j” to form a “G” which represents Gionee and subtly conveys the message, “I am joyful”. The brightened orange color signifies an energetic, passionate and warm image.
The Gionee S8 sports 16MP rear camera with LED flash, Laser auto-focus, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and 8MP front camera. It has full metal unibody with design already patented. It has fingerprint sensor embedded on home button which has response time 0.1 seconds and identification time 0.38 seconds. it has world’s first invisible antenna design in the full loop around the edge and comes with 70dB dual microphones and AKM3961 recording chip. It comes with dual WhatsApp support for each SIMs, floating window to watch video while on WhatsApp or browser

The Gionee S8 will be coming in Rose Gold, Grey and Gold colours for 449 Euros (approx. Rs. 33885). It will start shipping from the end of March, 2016.
