Oppo Find 7 Review

One of the toughest competitors for flagship smartphone!

Oppo Find 7Oppo a new name in Indian market but it is a couple years old brand from China which has a global reputation. It came to India with N1 which has a unique rotating camera and now it Find 7.

Design

Find 7 has the similar look of Find 5, with premium metal alloy frame on body. The smartphone has power or wake up key on left and volume rocker key on right side of the smartphone with metallic touch. The back panel is polycarbonate and can be popped up. It has removable battery, micro SIM card slot and microSD card slot. At rear end it has camera at top and dual LED Flash with speakers at the bottom. The micro USB port is in bottom edge and earpiece at the top. The Find 7 has slim bezels which mean few customers can use it with one hand.

Hardware and Software

Find 7 has 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 1440×2560, 538 ppi and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is loaded with 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon 801 SoC. It comes with 3GB RAM with 32GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone has 13MP rear shooter with dual LED Flash, Sony Exmor IMX214 sensor and 5MP front camera for selfies. It comes with 3000mAh battery capacity. It supports LTE network at 2300MHz band in India.

The Find 7 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Color OS on top of it. Color OS is light and works lag free, it offers lot of themes and wallpapers free. The smartphone is pre-loaded with Google apps and few bloat wares like O-Cloud, Power Management, Data monitor, Lock Now and some Gameloft games. It’s notification bar is different as it opens half menu first then other half too. The Find 7 has Gesture panel where you can draw and launch specific app by swiping on the left side. There is no word on Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Camera

The 13MP rear camera does justice to day light photography as well as low light photography. In the low light the noise level is low which means pictures taken are not bad. It can shoot 4K video, supports RAW files (DNG Format) and can capture slow motion videos at 120fps. Video recording is a reason you will like this smartphone, it is impressive. The camera app is simple and doesn’t come with detail settings which means easy to use. The front 5MP camera captures good quality selfies with Beauty mode which enhances image. It is good for video calling too.

Performance

The Antutu and Quadrant benchmarks for Find 7 are 42,728 and 22,850 points. It is one of the fastest phones what we have tested till date. The battery last for six hours and 30 minutes during test. Another additional advantage of Oppo Find 7 is that it comes with VOOC charging method which charges the smartphone from 0 to 75% in 30 minutes and full charging takes 45 minutes approx. While playing high end 3D graphic games we found no lag or slow running, it can also play popular file formats easily. The phone comes with MaxxAudio technology which gives a decent sound output. Call quality is good in weak signals.

Gizmo Verdict

Oppo Find 7 is competitive flagship smartphone to other smartphone makers like Samsung, Sony, LG, etc. The smartphone is available for Rs. 37,990. The main features to attract are Quad HD display, camera, audio quality and fast charging. Check the video review of Oppo Find 7.
