The new Killer is in the town. Meet the OPPO K1

In India’s smartphone market, we see a new phone getting launched every other day. But there are some devices that make us sit up and take notice. The OPPO K1 certainly falls in this camp. While the brand already has a huge presence in the country with its A, F and Find series of devices, the new K series marks a new chapter for the phonemaker. With the debut offering in the K range, OPPO is aiming to take the fight directly against other VFM rivals. Don’t believe us? Read on to find out why the OPPO K1 is a ‘K’iller smartphone.

The cheapest phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor

It was just yesterday that we started seeing smartphones that ditched the conventional fingerprint readers to offer it underneath the display. And while all these devices were priced on the higher side, the OPPO K1 is the most affordable handset to offer this tech. What this means is that you can unlock your phone instantly by simply placing your finger on the screen.

A large 6.41-inch waterdrop screen

While we’re on the point of the screen, it’s worth mentioning that the OPPO K1 offers a large 6.41-inch panel. The AMOLED screen offers punchy colours and thanks to a full HD+ resolution, it’s sharp too. If you are wondering that the phone will be too big to carry, then don’t as the brand has opted for a waterdrop display to offer a high screen-to-body ratio.

A design that immediately catches your attention

OPPO has always been known for its design language, and the K1 is no different. While at the front, it has a waterdrop display, the rear features an attractive gradient finish. This allows the phone to offer a unique look depending upon the light falling on its back surface. You can also opt for the classy black colour, or a distinct-looking blue colour.

Powerful Snapdragon 660 processor

Wondering if the OPPO K1 is a beauty without brains? Well, one look at its spec sheet and all your doubts will go away. The smartphone comes powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset, which is one of the most powerful processors in this price segment. Coupled with 4GB RAM, the device should be able to handle everything thrown at it.

Dual rear cameras and a powerful 25MP selfie shooter

For imaging, the OPPO K1 comes with a pair of 16MP and 2MP snappers on the back. The combination allows for portrait photos along with offering the usual features. On the fascia, there’s a 25MP shooter for selfies. Both the rear and front cameras come with AI capabilities to ensure good results across different situations.

The OPPO K1 has been priced at Rs 16,990 and will be going on sale starting February 12th from Flipkart. To make the offer more exciting for buyers, the device will be available with an assured buyback offer of up to 90 percent of its value if they upgrade within eight months. Isn’t that exciting?
