Moto brought its new version of Moto Z2 Force with upgraded specifications in the market at an attractive price of 34,999 INR. The smartphone houses 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and Snapdragon 835 at heart. Let’s see how the smartphone performs in our review period.
Design:
Moto Z2 Force comes with the similar design like the other modular smartphones by the company. There’s a bulgy camera bump at the back which can be covered by the Moto Mod. At rear panel, a moto logo is placed at the center and few plugin points for mod’s connections.
On the front, there is a front camera at the top along with the flash and other sensors. Unlike the ongoing trend of Full View display, Moto has kept it shatterproof display panel. A Fingerprint sensor cum Home Key is placed at the bottom of the display along with a Moto Logo written. The lower space seems unnecessarily large and covering extra space and makes the smartphone a lot bigger.
The Hybrid SIM card tray is stapled to the top edge while the Type-C port is at the bottom side of the edge. Volume Rocker keys and Power Button are on the right side of the edge. There is no 3.5mm AUX port and instead, they provided a converter for listening songs by a headset. Speakers are on the front panel to give the right amount of sound to users.
Overall the design is pretty classic and slim, brushed metal body if we exclude the mod. The size of the phone may seem bigger and it may be a problem to use with a single hand. The Moto Z2 Force comes with a water repellent nano-coating and shatter-proof display which are a major plus point for it.
Display:
The Moto Z2 Force features a 5.5-inch of Quad HD display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution. The display is shatterproof and we tested it personally, we dropped the phone from 1 to 1.5-meter distance and it didn’t break. The display quality is very crisp and colourful. The icons and transition seem accurate and perfectly balanced. The sunlight readability of the smartphone id good and it can also be seen clearly with different viewing angles.
Specifications:
Moto Z2 Force houses an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.35GHz and coupled with 6GB of RAM. There’s a 64GB onboard storage provided which can be expandable up to 2TB via the Hybrid slot but you need to sacrifice the other SIM for it. It supports 4G VoLTE on both the SIM but one at a time. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and Type-C USB.
On the Software section, Moto Z2 Force runs on Stock Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and gets frequent updates time to time. The UI is simple, clean and handy to use. There are no additional bloatware but at starting if offers to install few handy apps if you wish. The gaming performance is very impressive. The provided SoC and RAM offers great strength while the QHD display offers very attractive and stable performance and display transitions. We played several high-end games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5, Shadow Fight 3 and GTA San Andreas. Every game ran smoothly without any lag. However, there’s a major issue of battery but the Power Mod provided plays a pivotal role in it.
The benchmark performance of the device is also very good. It scored 202868 in AnTuTu which is very impressive. The Geekbench score was 1867 in Single Core and 5940 in Multi-Core which is also very impressive. The scores are comparable to the rival OnePlus 5T which comes at a similar price tag.

The captured images have very good details and colour compositions.
The front camera is of 5-MP and features f/2.2 Aperture, Wide Angle 85Degree Lens, and Auto Night Mode. It captures good selfies with the provided Beautification Software. The selfies have good colour tone and in-depth details. The flash at the front works good and offers good light at night shoots. Overall the camera works very efficiently and captures great images on both rear and front. The camera is surely comparable to the flagship smartphone like OnePlus 5T.

Moto Z2 Force is backed by 2730mAh of the battery which is low comparing to the other smartphones and the provided high-end specifications. It offers 5-6 hours of battery life with moderate usage with minimal usage if can go up to 8 hours. But the provided Turbo Power Mod comes to rescue when the battery level is down. The battery takes less than 2 hours to fully charge with the help of turbocharger provided.
