It has been quite a long wait, but its finally here – Foldable Smart Phone. Samsung just took the drapes off their newest flexible device – The Samsung Galaxy Fold. Samsung was putting off the foldable phone idea until they overcame the evident obstacles that come with a flexible display. However, from the pictures and videos of their launch, it seems they have nailed it.
As the name suggests, the phone comes with a foldable display. It actually comes with a two-display setup with 4.6 inches on the exterior and a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex display on the inside. Samsung has crafted three apps support specifically for multitasking – WhatsApp, Microsoft Office and Facebook are optimized for this phone with additional apps under development. The Galaxy Fold comes with a 7nm processor with 12GB of RAM and a 512GB of inbuilt storage. A 4380 mAh – Two battery setup is separated by a hinge that houses multiple interlocking gears. There’s a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, alongside 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto camera at the back with a 10-megapixel cover camera for selfies.
Samsung Galaxy Fold will be available starting April 26thwith price tag of whopping $1,980. In this throat cutting competition, Samsung isn’t the only smartphone maker to create a foldable device. Xiaomi has recently teased its upcoming development while LG too has something under development. One thing is for sure 2019 should see some revolutionary foldable tech.
