As computers and mobile phones take the centre stage, data storing practices become all the more important. A recent study conducted by Western Digital revels, over half of the respondents admitted to having no backup of their data anywhere, and 84 per cent of those claimed a system crash and virus to be the primary cause of data related losses. A majority cited the reason for not backing up their data to be lack of time and the tedious process of going through the essentials.
To tackle this issue, storage solutions giant Western Digital, has introduced their new My Passport – a slimmest 5TB portable hard disk specifically for the Indian market. This new hard disk is 30 per cent slimmer than its predecessor and fits right in a palm of an average handed person. Furthermore, it comes with WD proprietary backup software that lets you store tremendous amounts of videos, software, music and documents, without having to worry about manually backing up the drive from time to time.
The new My Passport HDD includes a USB 3.0 connector that is also compatible with USB 2.0 inputs. To protect the content, the drive features a WD Discovery™ software for enhanced security which uses the latest 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption.
“People today want a storage device that matches their lifestyle: compact, snazzy, yet reliable. From listening to our customers, we keep innovating and introducing attractive products for them. Our award-winning My Passport line is now enhanced with the slimmest 5TB portable hard drive in the WD brand portfolio,” said Mr Khalid Wani, Direct Channel Sales, Western Digital India.
The My Passport drives are priced at ₹4499 for 1TB variant while the ₹10999 for 5TB one. Users can pick the device in Black, Blue and Red via offline retailers or through online ecommerce portals starting today.
