Panasonic, a startup vendor in smartphone industry has launched two new rugged “tablets with phone functionality by the names FZ-E1 and FZ-X1 at MWC 2014.
The FZ-E1 version runs Windows Embedded 8 Handheld on a Qualcomm 2.3GHz processor. The device has a 5-inch display with 720×1280 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm MSM8974AB processor along 2GB of RAM. The device comes with an 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. It has 32GB of built-in storage and supports microSD for additional space. The tablet is powered by a massive 6,000mAh battery.
The FZ-E1 is the first tablets to have 3G and LTE in the Toughpad lineup, which include seven additional tablets with screens ranging from 7 to 20 inches.
The 5-inch Toughpads FZ-E1 will first go on sale in Japan for about ¥130,000 (US$1,268), in June 2014.
