Opera Mini reaches a new benchmark in India…crosses 50 million users

Opera 50mnOpera Mini recently boasted off its large user base and setting up a new benchmark of 50 million regular users in India recently on November 10 at an event in Delhi. Opera celebrated their new achievement with a flashmob at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon followed by a party. According to latest statistics Opera Mini has become the third largest mobile app to be downloaded and used in India after Facebook and Whatsapp.

At the event, Lars Boilesen CEO Opera Software, mentioned that India is the home to the largest population of Opera Mini users. The data compression technology used by Opera Mini and widely recognized among users all over the world has been a significant feature of attraction among all the users. Opera Mini’s compression technology and low RAM requirements make it a hit on handsets used in India. 16 Indian handset manufacturers have already preinstalled Opera Mini on over 350 models of Android devices available in the market.
