Asus MeMo Pad 8 and MeMo Pad 10

Incredible yet affordable tablets from Asus

Asus has launched two new affordable tablets to their MeMo Pad line at the IFA 2013. For most of
the users MeMo Pad 8 will be the most irresistible option due to its smaller profile. MeMo Pad 10
will also be attracting customers but not as much as MeMo Pad 8.
Asus has finally answered to the requests of users regarding their technology. Some basic additions
are SD card slot and the quad core processor to speed things up. ASUS brags that the tablets has
both wide viewing angles and “great daylight visibility.”
MeMo Pad 8 will feature a 1280 x 800 resolution backlit LED display on the 8.8 inch wide screen. It
has a 1.6 GHz quad core processor which will be performing profoundly well in multi-tasking of
applications. It has 1 GB of RAM with 8 GB of on board storage with a Micro SD card slot for more
memory. The primary shooter has capability to shoot photos at 5 MPix and shoot videos at 720p.
However the front facing camera is of 1.2 MPix. The tablet has dual speakers with ASUS SonicMaster
technology. All of this hardware is packed into a glossy cabinet of dimensions 212.4 x 127.4 x 9.95
mm. It weighs around 350 grams. All of this is powered by a 3950 mAh battery with up to 9 hours of
life.
The MeMo Pad 10 shares most of its hardware specs from the MeMo Pad 8. It’s basically a watered
down version of the MeMo Pad FHD 10. The differences lie on the dimension of the screen, the
storage options, battery capacity and the primary shooter. MeMo Pad 10 features a 10.1 inch display
at 1280 x 800 resolution. The battery capacity of this device is 5070 mAh and Asus claims the battery
life of 9.5 hours. The only odd spec of this device is the 2 MPix primary shooter whereas the lower
MeMo Pad 8 features 5 MPix (I mean…what were they thinking!!!). The device also has support for
Assisted GPS and GLONASS support unlike the 8 inch MeMo Pad. Asus will provide options of 8 GB
and 16 GB for storage in this tablet.
Asus has not yet revealed the prices of the two tablets. They are expected to be out to the users by
the end of the year.
