Plans for Google in India!
Google comes with Google for India, leading with CEO Sundar Pichai and his team. Pichai has three step plan of promoting Internet in India, as he said,

Google aims to give full internet in India and other developing countries with better connectivity and high quality software
- Google partnering with Indian Railways and Railtel to launch RailWire Wi-Fi, which will let users to get free Wi-Fi in railway stations. Mumbai Central will be the first to go online in January 2016, they will bring 100 more till December 2016. Marian Croak, Vice-President of Access Strategy & Emerging Markets, said, [notification type=”notification_info” ]“Railways are the backbone of Indian transportation and run through the heart of almost every city, town, and village uniting the country. These lines connect India, and working as partners, Google and RailTel will connect India along digital lines as well.”[/notification]
Google products work better for Indians
- The light version of Google search results and webpages, the loading time will be faster and will increase and lets traffic for publishers. Tamar Yehoshua, Vice-President of Product Management for Search, said, [notification type=”notification_info” ]“We take the responsibility of connecting people with the information they need and recognize just how much this can make their lives better in big and small ways.”[/notification]
- Google created virtual keyboard which makes 11 Indian languages easy to type.
- Google launched offline Maps, which lets the user to download the map and access it without internet. Jen Fitzpatrick, Vice-President of Product Management for Google Maps, said, [notification type=”notification_info” ]“Offline Maps is a feature we expect to be useful around the world, and countries like India will truly benefit when it comes to accessing Google Maps with expensive, slow or limited connectivity. In fact, India is one of the top five countries that has the most people using Offline Maps today.”[/notification]
- Google working with Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India to add panoramic imagery of 250 Indian monuments. These can be seen on Google Cultural Institute and Google Maps.
- YouTube came with offline download feature last year. Eyal Manor, Vice-President of Engineering for YouTube, announced an additional feature that will let videos buffer while they are paused for those on limited bandwidth. Manor said, [notification type=”notification_info” ]“We believe that every person should be able to experience YouTube at its best: in high quality, with few delays and limited buffering.”[/notification]
- Instant translation of any text on Android phone coming in first quarter 2016. Google trying Android and Chrome to be solutions to local problems.
- Google will train two million Android developers within three years partnership with National Skill Development Corporation. Jason Titus, Vice-President of Engineering of the Developers Product Group, said, [notification type=”notification_info” ]“We’re already seeing incredible growth in the number of developers in India, and our forecasts indicate that this is growth is not going to slow down anytime soon. - The Chromebit is a device which turns monitors into computer and is priced for Rs. 7,999. It will be available from starting January in India. It will help the need of computing in the education sector.
