Airtel brings Internet TV Hybrid DTH and 4K Android TV box in India

First Internet TV in India!

Airtel Digital TV brings Internet TV in India, which is Android TV made by LG and provides up 500 satellite TV channels. Airtel says it is India’s first Hybrid CTH Set-top Box. It comes with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Games, Airtel Movies and more apps pre-loaded. User can use Google Play to install more apps and it is compatible with Dolby Surround Sound Audio.

The connectivity of Set-yop box is Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO (2.4/5.0 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, comes with Bluetooth-based remote control and also has Google voice search feature. It has a Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0 with HDCP2.2, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. It is capable to show 4K content from Netflix and other sources. It also lets user to pause, record or rewind live shows. Android TV lets you Cast movies & TV shows and more – from Android, iOS, Mac, Windows or Chromebook easily. Physical game controller or smartphone that can act as gamepad can be also attached to play games with Internet TV.

Airtel Internet TV requires minimum of 4Mbps internet speed for smooth running through broadband or hotspot. Airtel Internet TV is priced at Rs. 4999 with 3 month Digital TV subscription. As a limited period offer Rs. 7999 offers one year subscription. Existing Airtel Digital TV customers can upgrade their existing STB’s to ‘Internet TV’ STB for Rs. 3,999 so that your existing DTH box will be replaced by Airtel Internet TV box. Airtel is offering upto 25GB additional data for home Airtel broadband customers when they register for myHOME on MyAirtel app. It is for the elected cities for now and going on sale through Amazon.in and also via Airtel Digital TV touch points retail stores,website, contact centers soon.
