Apple announced its new 16-inch MacBook Pro, which essentially is a slight upgrade over the 15.4-inch model that has been standard for all these years. The most promising update comes from the redesigned keyboard, which ditches the butterfly keyboard that has long become a subject of discord around Apple’s users.
Besides this revised update, what’s new is bumped up graphics, battery, storage, microphone, and a revised set of speakers.
Long Live the Magic Keyboard
The MacBook that has always has been the symbol of excellence in the laptop category has been classified as a no-compromise option for a lot of time now. The fresh unibody design, magnanimous battery life, and an exceptional class of performance have traditionally been the benchmarks for laptops. However, with the launch of a 12-inch MacBook, Apple traded the single-hinged scissor design for a dual-hinge butterfly design for a better aesthetic look. This change severed the critical travel for that ultrathin design, which, despite its flat profile, played much to people’s chagrin.
The typing experience on these new keyboards was plagued with a less tactile feel, that unfortunately, enough downplayed the considerations taken by Apple. Despite the company’s efforts to resolve the issue, the fixes in the form of replacement programs and iterative reworks hardly ameliorated the problems.
But this is passed with the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. This new laptop incorporates what Apple calls the Magic Keyboard, which has long served as the epitome of excellence for the iMacs for all these years. This revised keyboard fixes some minor problems of the old scissor design and pledges a user experience that is more natural and generous than before.
Additionally, besides the most useful touch bar at the top, Apple has incorporated an Escape key at the left side that the company claims to be a vital part of the entire Pro experience.
Revised Speakers
Though the 16-inch Pro sits on a form factor similar to the earlier 15-inch model, the laptop is a bit beefier, weighing in at a little over 4.3 pounds. This slight change in the overall heft is own to the fact that the computer now packs in a 100-watt-hour battery. This battery promises an average life of 11-hour, which is one hour more compared to the 15-inch model found earlier.
What’s upgraded is the new six-speaker array that claims to render phenomenal sound. The speaker with its three microphones set up accounts for a well-rounded setup, ideal for YouTubers and vloggers on the go.
New graphics
The graphics seem to be updated this time around as the company has moved towards the AMD Radeon Pro 5300M/ 5500M chip. Despite this welcome update, Apple stays true to its port department, as the device still has just four Thunderbolt 3 USB-C inputs. The laptop also uses the same old ninth gen intel processor as before with the same six-core processor.
Apple has bumped up the base model with the storage starting at 512GB as opposed to 256GB but kept the prices the same as before with the base model starting at Rs. 1,99,900.
