Apple’s Announcements: Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, New 7th gen iPad, and New Watch Series 5

Apple Arcade

The Arcade, that has been now moved to the App store includes the ability to share your purchases with family members right from your app store id. The new changes include some interesting new titles from seasoned gaming companies like Konami, Capcom, Annapurna Interactive, and more. 

The Apple Arcade gaming service will be available from September 19 for a cost starting INR 99/month with one month of the free trial period. 

Apple TV+

Apple’s premium paid TV streaming service will offer their Original series which will be on air starting November 1. The price of this new service is set at Rs. 99 per month in India, which give a tough fight to streaming service like Netflix. Apple also includes a year of this subscription-free with every new Apple product.

Tim Cook said: “The reaction to these trailers has been incredible, they’ve been viewed over 100 million times the trailer for the Morning Show is one of the most-watched trailers for any new TV show ever.” 

7th Gen iPad

The new 7th gen iPad comes with a slightly bigger 10.2-inch Retina display that has a pixel density of 3.5 million. It runs on a new A10 chip and can now connect to Apple keyboard & pencil apart from the existing Apple accessories. The prices start at Rs. 29,900 Wi-Fi model and Rs. 40,900 for Wi-Fi + Cellular models with pre-orders beginning today in select countries.

Apple Watch Series 5

Apple has geared its efforts towards health studies with the new apple watch. The new studies undertake three new arenas in hearing aid, women health study and heart study in which Apple has teamed up with medical institutes and Universities.  

Apple has introduced a new Always-on Retina Display with a Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) dynamic display which is extremely power efficient. The watch now includes a built-in compass that shows the altitude and heading in the new compass app. The company has added several built-in safety features like emergency SOS with International emergency calling, fall detection and ECG support.   

The watch comes with the widest assortment of cases made out of 100 per cent recycled aluminium. There are new titanium and ceramic model that is custom-engineered in a variety of colour finishes. The series 5 prices starts at Rs. 40,900 GPS variant and Rs. 49,900 for the cellular version, with the sale starting September 20th. The series 3 price has now been slashed to an astounding GPS Rs. 20,900 and GPS + Cellular Rs. 29,900.
