Earlier netbooks was everyone’s choice to have as a personal computer. They are lightweight and capable of everyday computing work and stays for long time. Then tablets came, with more sleek designs and powerful processors, so the netbooks craze fades. After a long time ASUS released this netbook with new form factor and specs. Here we see that are they able to get our attention.

Build and Design:

The things you’ll notice as you hold this device are its ultra slim body, light weight device, sturdy build body and display with good viewing angles.

It has four colour variant that are Black, White, Dark Blue and Red. The top has only glossy part while the rest body has matte finish. It has a fanless system and no vents are there in any side.

Keyboard and Trackpad:

It has a well-spaced keyboard and writing is really comfortable in this device. Also the keys are smooth to press and need not to travel.

The track pad is a little too big but the mouse response is good. Buttons are a little bit annoying but the overall feature is good. It also supports webpage scrolling, two-finger pinch etc.

Software and Hardware:

It has 11.6-inch of display with 1366×768 pixel resolution. It has a low power Intel Atom Processor which are much more power efficient than the previous models. It is powered by Intel Atom Z3735 quad core processor clocked at 1.33GHZ with Intel HD Graphics, combined with 2GB of DDR3L RAM.

It comes with subscription of Windows 8.1 OS and 1 yr. subscription for Office 365. Out of 32GB HDD we get approx. 21GB of free space. You definitely need a head disk if you love to store a lot. You’ll also get 500GB of cloud storage for 2 years. It comes with preinstalled one year MS Office pack.

Performance and Battery:

The performance is not so better than the other core series notebooks but quiet acceptable. It runs perfectly for regular apps and multitask. Speakers are also good and loud.

The 3D Mark’s Ice Storm gives the score of 12434.

Also PC Mark and Cinebench R11.5 give score of 1489 and 1.03 respectively.

Screen display is pretty visible at any angle. Full HD movies show some stutter. Only entry level games are enjoyable, we played Need for Speed Most Wanted and it performs well.

In terms of battery is claims to have 12 hour life but PC Mark 8 give battery life about 8 hour 30 min. but as for daily use it last up to more than 9 hours. The stand by time in this notebook is also amazing and can be lasted for days also.

Gizmo Verdict:

With the price tag of 14,999 INR, it is a well performing notebook and a must buy device. However you may need an external hard-disk for storage issue. If you are a daily work is limited up to MS Office and need long lasting battery you can go for it.
