Canon launched its flagship EOS-1D X Mark III in India, starting ₹5,75,995

Canon just launched their masterpiece EOS-1D X Mark III camera in India. This new flagship product marks the pinnacle of success as the generation evolves through a big leap in imaging quality across all segments of life. This particular camera carries the baton forward from its predecessor EOS-1DX Mark II launched a while back. The camera offers the best in class experience with its high agility and image quality that works amazingly, irrespective of the lighting conditions. This new tech is touted to pack the best fastest AF system on the market owing to its Face/Eye/Head detection during live view still and shooting modes. 

Key Features:

Dual Pixel CMOS AF

The new EOS-1D X Mark III features a brand new 20.1 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with an all-new high detail low-pass filter that accounts for continuous focus and subject tracking technology. This tech not only allows eye-tracking possible but makes head and face detection possible that makes capturing dynamic subjects extremely easy. This is projected on a screen that is a high-resolution touch panel with 2.1-million dots capacity. There’s also a new DIGIC X processor that enables an ISO range of 100-102400, which is further expandable to 50-819200.

Unparallel level of AF support

The Mark III features what Canon calls their Dual Pixel Autofocus technology that offers 191-points with 155 cross-type. This system supports 3869 selectable focus positions and 525 automatic areas to choose from while shooting. The live mode captures up to 20fps in burst mode in both RAW mode and RAW+JPEG modes. The buffer can store up to 1000 images in a single go thanks to its two dual CF express card slots. 

Supreme Video Quality:

The most prominent feature of the EOS-1D X Mark III is undoubtedly the 5.5K (60p) Raw video recording tech that facilitates superb oversampling footage through its Debayer algorithm. Additionally, the camera offers a choice of 4K 60p cropped or uncropped, which provides more flexibility to a user. The uncompressed videos through the 10-12-Bit mode allow a lot more headroom for enhanced post-processing to obtain highly professional outputs for cinematographers. 

Durability:

The body is made out of highly durable magnesium allow, which makes its extremely free friendly as it can withstand sizable impact during a demanding shoot. The body is additionally made weatherproof with its weather sealing around the seams and buttons to prevent dust and moisture ingress. The shutter life is tested too as it promises industry-leading 500,000 cycles without fail. 

Connectivity:

With multiple builds in high bandwidth data communication systems such as a Wi-Fi, Wired LAN, and the latest USB 3.1 port, the camera is future proof and is a perfect tool for professional users. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth feature allows seamless connections with a smartphone for secure transfers on the go. 

Pricing and Availability:

The camera is priced at an MRP of ₹ 5,75,995/- (incl. of taxes) for the body and includes a 512 GB CF Express Card and Reader in the box. The EOS-1D X Mark III will be available from mid-February via select retail outlets across the country.
