Coolpad Mega 2.5D: Challenges competitors with specifications and price

Coolpad has changed the horizons in India from last one year. The brand has launched some good products like Coolpad Note 3 and Coolpad Note 3 Lite, which shook the market. Now this time it is Coolpad Mega 2.5D which was launched few days back in India with an aggressive price.

The smartphone has a lot to offer with its aggressive price, which will be discussed in the post.

Coolpad_2Design and Build

The craftsmanship of the smartphone is very beautiful. We got the Gold colour unit (other colours Black and White) as it is the most stylist in look. The catch is it looks like metallic back but it is just metal finish on the plastic back and metal frame on the body.

Coolpad_3The smartphone has 5.5-inch display but company has somehow managed to make it feather touch, as it weighs around 140 grams. As the name suggest it has 2.5D curved glass to give added beauty in the design and sturdy feels coz of metal frame. It is unibody smartphone and has edge to edge display which better screen usability.Coolpad_5

In the box it has USB cable, earphones, Charger and documents (start guide and warranty card). The best part is smartphone company’s skip the earphone in the box to reduce the price point of device but Coolpad made it a complete package.

Coolpad_4Coming to the buttons part – It has physical buttons of power and volume rocker. It doesn’t has on screen buttons which makes screen little smaller while using. The speaker output is at the back with Coolpad branding. It has attractive 8MP rear camera bump (I like the camera bump which helps to protect lens).

Performance & Battery life

The Mega 2.5D is loaded with MediaTek MT6573P processor which is clocked at 1GHz quad core and has 3GB RAM for more smooth experience. The smartphone is offering possible hardware in the price it is offering. While playing games like Asphalt 8, we didn’t face any lag and manages to run the game quite easily.

Multitasking in the smartphone can be handled as it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with CoolUI 8.0 which brings a lot customization. The notification toggle pop up from bottom for a change, not like all regular Android smartphones. Some cool features are Cool Centre, Smart Control and taking screen shot while scrolling the whole required page.

Coolpad Mega 2.5D packed with 2,500mAh battery which is decent. It easily manages to run for a full day with normal usage and a heavy user can get 7 hours or more output in battery life.

Camera & Samples

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D highlights of the 8MP front facing camera, fixed focus which has wide angle lens to get better selfies. The Quality of the front camera is impressive and beauty mode with 1- 10 level of beatification gives added effect to the image.Coolpad Mega_1

Talking about the rear camera which sports 8MP with LED Flash and auto focus. The camera app gives you Pro mode, Beauty mode, video mode, Night mode and normal photo mode. The pro mode gives you the enhances experience of the camera users. It also give battery saving mode while camera is on and any activity is not performed. The front and the rear camera is delight to use on regular basis. Coolpad Mega_2Price & Availability

Coolpad again manages to bring the aggressive price of Rs. 6,999 which will go on sale exclusive through Amazon.in. If you are really looking at the competition from Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 8,000 budget, Coolpad Mega 2.5D is the best available option in the Indian market. If you summarise the whole Coolpad Mega 2.5D offering is Aggressive price, design, light weight and amazing front camera.
