Firefox OS for tablets?
Mozilla, vendor of one of the popular web browser, Firefox, has launched its brand new tablet Prototype, which runs on Firefox OS.
Mozilla’s Firefox OS tablet prototype is built by Foxconn, it is a high-end tablet. Mozilla has officially revealed specifications point towards display processor, RAM, in-built memory and connectivity options.
The tablet sports a 10-inch screen with a 1280×800 pixel resolution, 1GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB of in-built storage.
Connectivity option includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot, Micro-USB port. It will have front and rear cameras and a 7,000mAh battery.
It would be unfair to compare this tablet against the likes of iPads or Nexus tablets, since that has never been Mozilla’s goal. It is approaching the emerging markets with a totally different direction as well as with a different platform.
According to the report, Firefox OS presently runs on smartphones and start making smart television screens as well.
