Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL Launched: Quad HD+ 90Hz OLED display with a dual camera setup and Motion Sense technology announced

Google just announced its new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphone before the upcoming holiday season in the US. The Pixel 4 comes with the 5.7-inch FHD+ OLED display, while the Pixel 4 XL has a 6.3-inch QHD+ OLED screen, both packed with a 90Hz refresh rate. Both devices are made out of an Aluminium frame with a seamless matte-finished hybrid coating and an amalgamation of Gorilla Glass 5 and soft-touch materials attached to it. The build quality is rated to IP68 to prevent it from dust and water. The smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor with six gigs of RAM and the latest Android 10 OS.

Purported as the best Android Camera smartphone to date, Google has updated these devices even further this time around. The new 12.2MP sensor, along with the 16MP telephoto lens, lets a user shoot super-resolution zoomed images. There’s a new feature called Night Sight that helps you capture shots of the stars at night. The good news being, this feature will be added on to the Pixel 3 and 3a soon. Google Assistant has also received some updates as it helps in quickly opening apps, search through the device for files and application, and lets you share your screen easily.

The smartphones include some new tools such as a custom build Titan M security chip and an all-new Motion sensing chip that remains the courtesy of Project Soli Google has been working since past years. This technology effectively tracks a user to initiate a face unlock, turn off the screen when you are not around, and lets you control the smartphone via gestures.

Google also introduced a new offline Recorder app that lets you record anything and can identify music or applause through its sophisticated algorithm. Users can do a quick search for a particular word or tone in a saved file, which seems cool. However, English is the only language that is supported for now.

The smartphone comes in three distinct color options called the Just Black, Clearly White, and Limited-Edition Orange. Pixel 4 is priced at $799 and $899 for 64GB and 128GB, respectively, while the Pixel XL is priced at $899 and $999 for 64GB and 128GB, respectively. The smartphones are available for pre-order in the US and several countries with shipment beginning on October 24 this month and unfortunately they will not come to India.
