Huawei took the wraps off its latest-gen Matebook series dubbed as the MateBook 13 and MateBook 14. This lineup symbolizes the company`s ultra-portable lightweight range of laptops. Besides some petty redo, changes remain restricted to a Full View display and upgraded performance.
The MateBook 14 sports a 14-inch Full HD (2160x 1440) resolution with a Full View 10-point touch screen display. The bezels are hunkered down to a bare 4.9 mm which gives it a screen-to-body ratio of 90% that supports Huawei`s One Glass Solution. It measures 307.5 x 223.8 x 15.9 mm and weighs in at 1.49 kg. Powered by an 8thGen Intel Core i7-8565U processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX 250 GPU and 2 GB DDR5 VRAM, this laptop is functionally efficient to handle day to day workload.
Next comes the MateBook 13, which is a toned down 13-inch version of the MateBook 14. It’s powered by a same 8thGen Intel Core i7-8565U processor, with downgraded NVIDIA GeForce MX150 GPU. It too packs the Full View 3:2 display with 10-point multi-touch option and a screen-to-body ratio of 88%.
Both the laptops come with Huawei Shark Fin Fan 2.0 design that facilitates higher air flow adding to better cooling performance. The laptop is equipped with a 57.4 Watt/hr. the battery that can be charged using the included 65W power adapter. They also include Huawei`s proprietary subsets such as the Share 3.0 OneHop that allows cross-platform file sharing between devices.
Huawei MateBook laptops would be available in China starting Feb 2019 with subsequent roll out across select markets by April 2019.
