Infinix Hot 6 Pro Review

Infinix Hot 6 Pro is the latest offering by online player Infinx. The smartphone manufacturer brought Infinix Hot 6 Pro, the next budget smartphone after Infinix Hot S3. This smartphone also features great budget specifications like Android 8.0 Oero, Dual Rear Camera Setup and 3GB of RAM. Let’s see how the smartphone performs in our review period.

Design and Display:

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro, we got was of Sandstone Black colour. It offers a slick matte finish with good grip and very fewer fingerprint smudges. The edged are curved and offer a good ergonomic design. The size and weight of the device are good and it can’t be used with a single hand.

It boasts a 2.5D curved-edge display measuring 5.99 inches diagonally and has an HD+ resolution i.e. 720×1440 pixels. It also has 18:9 aspect ratio of with very slim borders. The colour reproduction of the smartphone is great and one can see a fairly bright screen with appropriate contrast.

Specification and Performance:

Infinix Hot 6 Pro houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad Core Processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone also runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based its own custom OS skin called Hummingbird XOS v3.2. The hardware and software combination offers pretty good performance under budget. The regular usage is fast and without any type of lag.

It also offers 32GB of onboard storage with 128GB of expandable microSD card slot. The storage we got while botting the device is about 26GB. The OS setup has taken the rest of the space along with the bloatware. It offers a Web browser, a forum app, a 9Gag-style video app, etc. and users can uninstall most of them. The UI is pretty clean and responsive too.

The Gaming and Benchmark performance of the device is good but not the best under budget. We got 44070 in AnTuTu and 664/1783 in Geekbench SIngle-Core/Multi-Core. In gaming, we tried PUBG and Asphalt 8 on this device. Initially, the games start slowly but after the loading games were lag free. PUBG as not on the highest graphics setting but one can enjoy it on the device though.

Camera, Battery, and Connectivity:

The 13MP + 2MP Dual Rear Camera setup captures good images under daylight conditions. The captured images have good colour reproduction but the in-depth details were missing. The LED flash helps to capture images at night but the results are not great. The front camera is of 5MP and it captures good selfies. There are no filters or flash on the front camera but the performance is acceptable.

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro is backed by 4000mAh of the battery which offers a pretty dependable amount of battery life. We got 10+ hours in our video loop test and a full day battery life with moderate usage. The minimal users will get around 2 days of battery life with a single full charge. The major drawback here is it doesn’t have any Fast Charging abilities so you’ll need around 3 hours to fully charge the smartphone.

The smartphone supports Dual SIM with 4G LTE connectivity. It means 4G VoLTE on the first and 3G/2G on the second SIM. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB, and GPS. The connectivity options work fine and we didn’t get any type of distortions in our usage.

Overview:

Infinix Hot 6 Pro is a great budget device with well built and good performance. It’s a greatly affordable smartphone to go with under 10K range. At a price point of Rs. 7,999, it covers every aspect of the smartphone to give you a solid output. You can surely go for it and if you can spend more you can go for the Redmi 5.
