After wrapping up a successful 2019, Infinix – a Hong Kong based company just announced the arrival of their new S5 Pro smartphone in India today. The Infinix S5 Pro is slated to be the company’s most ambitious uptake in the bang-for-buck category which is largely dominated by the likes of Realme and Redmi Note smartphones.
The S5 Pro packs in some impressive specs such as a 6.53-inch FHD+ Full View display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The design is a glass body finished in two amazing colours called the Forest Green and Violet with bezels kept to a bare minimum and viewing angles superior to anything else in its category. This display panel peaks out at max 480 nit’s brightness level with a PPI density of 403 and a contrast ratio of 1500:1.
The S5 Pro is equipped with an Helio P35 64-bit Octa-core processor coupled with 4GB DDR4 RAM and 64GB of storage. The smartphone runs on XOS 6.0 Dolphin build on top of Android 10 operating system. This new OS includes several handy features such as Social Turbo, Digital Wellbeing, Wi-Fi share, Smart Panel, Game Mode, Smart gestures, etc. Security is taken care of by a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor beside the face unlock feature which is regarded to be more accurate and responsive than earlier.
The camera spec on the back includes a triple sensor setup of 49MP AI-assisted lens, 2MP depth lens and a dedicated low light lens along with a Dual LED flash. This camera promises great image quality due to its 4-in-1-pixel binning technology that assures crystal clear photos in low lighting conditions. The camera app offers a lot of features such as a Google Lens mode, AI Auto Scene Detection, HDR mode, Portrait night mode, etc.
As taunted by the company’s Twitter handle, the S5 Pro gets a 16MP AI Pop-up selfie unit on the top. This mechanism is poised to be highly durable as it comes with features such as Drop Protection, Dust & Splash Protection and is tested to last over 150,000 lift cycles. The company has taken the recent trend of posting short videos among the millennials and equipped this smartphone with a feature called Pop-Up short video mode. This feature effectively allows users to capture 15 second short videos with options such as 3D Face Beauty mode and AI Portrait mode inbuilt. Lastly, the battery is solid 4000mAh unit coupled with AI Smart Power saving mode to provide over 15 days of standby time.
