Infinix Smart 4 Plus Review: A big display and battery

Infinix is a known brand in India for some time for its budget segment offerings. Recently the brand has launched Smart 4 Plus which is the successor of Smart 3 Plus. The highlight of the smartphone is 6.82-inch huge display, 6000mAh big battery priced for Rs. 7,499. So, without any further delays, let’s check out the full review of the Infinix Smart 4 Plus.

Display and Specifications

The Infinix Smart 4 Plus has 6.82-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 90.5-per cent screen-to-body ratio, aspect ratio 20:9 with 720×1640 pixels and dewdrop notch present for the front camera with LED flash also packed with sensors. It has a very huge display in this price range and no other competitor has matched this offer.

The phone is loaded with MediaTek Helio A25 which is a 12nm processor with 8 cores coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It has GPU IMG PowerVR GE8320 to make your gaming and processing smoother.

The Smart 4 Plus has a glass front and glossy plastic back which is a new dual-coloured gem-cut texture, packed with both the camera lenses and flash modules placed in a box-shaped, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The back panel is not prone to smudges. In the box, you also get a charger, transparent hardcover. The phone has a headphone jack and charging port in the bottom, power and volume buttons on the side and speaker grill on the top.

Performance and Battery

The Smart 4 Plus is running on XOS 6.2 based on Android 10. The phone is never meant to play heavy games like PUBG, COD or Asphalt. The company has listed that PUBG can be played on the phone as it has been optimized for the phone but it struggles to run lag-free.

After a few weeks of usage, the phone seemed to lag and was less responsive at times while multitasking, also app crashing happened sometimes. The phone gets constant advertisement notifications because of the bloatware present in it. these notifications are distracting and can get quite annoying especially while watching the movie. And you can’t uninstall this bloatware.

The Infinix Smart 4 Plus offer a good audio output and the only reason is the DTS surround sound feature. While the phone comes with a 3.5mm jack, the company does not provide earphones within the package.

Camera

The Infinix Smart 4 Plus sports 13MP primary rear camera and a depth sensor, with an 8MP front shooter. Both cameras are capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps. Photos came out decent in a good amount of light for front and rear both. What came as a total surprise was the accuracy of colours in all captured images. The shooting modes present are AI HDR mode for High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos, Auto scene detection like food, street, nature, night portrait.

Gizmo Verdict

There are several options in the price range what Smart 4 Plus is offering but what makes it a standout product is the display and battery feature. And after using for few days Infinix is the only option which offers the best choice for big display and long marathon battery which lasts longer as the brand is claiming for nearly 22 hours straight for me, also the DTS audio is additional benefit for user for a better experience of while watching movie or series. Only one thing which may bother users is the software experience.
