Microsoft Lumia 540 5 (1)

Microsoft’s newly launched Lumia 540 dual sim comes with acceptable specs at price of 10,000 but yet the phone makes a good impression on the users. Let’s check what features and quality we’ll get form it.

Build and Design:

The Microsoft Lumia 540 comes with plastic bulgy body which is thick compare to the normal smartphone. The smartphone feels comfortable to hold.

The rear panel comes with Microsoft written with the logo at the center with rear camera and flash at the top and speaker at the bottom. The front panel has front facing camera at the top and buttons on the display screen.

The 3.5mm jack it at the top and the microUSB connecting port at the bottom. The volume rocker keys and the power key are at the right edges.

Display:

The smartphones comes with 5-inch IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution (294 ppi). The screen display is good and impressive. Colour reproduction at the screen is good but the icons look so sharp. Viewing angles of the smartphone is good but may find some difficulties under the sunlight.

Hardware and Software:

The Microsoft Lumia 540 comes with 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM. It has 8GB of inbuilt memory out of which user gets 5GB of free memory. The memory can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. It also gives users a 30GB of free OneDrive cloud storage.

The smartphone runs on Microsoft Windows 8.1. The device comes with some of preloaded apps like Twitter, Facebook, BBM third party apps as well as some of Lumia Apps like Storyteller, Camera etc.

The UI is good and doesn’t show any type of lag or slowdown.

It is a dual-SIM smartphone with 3G connectivity. It has other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 and GPS. There is an offline map option so you can download maps and use it directly with the GPS without any internet connection.

Camera:

The rear facing camera is of 8MP which shoots good images in day light mode. The low light performance of the device is not so good but the flash does the job well. The image captures has good amount of detail and colour.

The front facing camera is of 5MP that shoots impressive selfies. The given Lumia apps does the job perfect with the camera and give users a lot of customization with their use.

Performance:

The device didn’t show any type of lag while multitasking. With 1GB of RAM it works fine and is easily usable. We run several tabs as well as apps and it works fine with every task.

Games like Asphalt 8 runs fine but we find some slowdown in Modern Combat 5 while opening and closing them. But other than this every game like Subway Surfer, Candy Crush and Temple Run 2 works smoothly.

The Benchmarks score of device is 11512 in AnTuTu and MultiBench 2 are given in the image. The marks are not so impressive but acceptable.

The device is packed with 2200mAh of battery which gives a battery backup of up to 12 hours for the moderate users and up to a full day for simple users.

The sound and video quality of the device is good and we didn’t faced any type of problems. The given inbuilt apps run fine. Also the call quality of the device is good but somehow we got a good quality of sound in calls.

Gizmo Verdict:

The performance of the device is good and acceptable but the cost seems high with the given specs. If you wanna try Lumia smartphone this is one of the good option under 10K.
