Nokia 2.2 Launched: AI-powered budget smartphone for just Rs. 6,999

HMD Global a brand owner of Nokia just announced their newest budget device
called the Nokia 2.2. This device completes the entire spectrum from budget offering
to premium class of Nokia`s refined smartphones. The Nokia 2.2 also insinuates
features such as AI camera and a dedicated Google Assistant button which defines
the new class of Android One smartphones.
Nokia 2.2 is set to be the part of the Android One project which ensures it would be
compatible with the upcoming Android Q combined with three years of timely
security patches. The company claims the Nokia 2.2 to be the most accessible
smartphone that has all it takes to win this segment over. With a launch offer price of
INR 6,999 for the 2/16GB variant and Rs. 7,999 for the 3/32GB variant – (till 30th
June) the device seems to be quite affordable.
AI takes the centre stage on the Nokia 2.2 as the company promises a deeper level
integration of AI-powered biometric face to unlock, enhanced Google Lens,
dedicated Google Assistance within the overall OS. AI also has been used to
ameliorate the camera with its low light shooting assist which uses advanced
algorithms to create a single image with greater details and less background noise.
The spec sheet includes a single 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 lens and
single LED flash. There is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter onboard.
Nokia 2.2 comes with a massive 5.71-inch HD+ edge-to-edge screen with a front
facing camera tucked into the less intrusive notch on top. The screen is capable of
shooting up to 400-nits of brightness which should be easily legible under direct
sunlight. A compact form factor ensures it is ergonomic to use and a good design
makes the device feel elegant to hold.
The device is powered by the quad-core MediaTek A22 CPU chipset, which offers a
higher level of battery optimization to prolong the battery life for a day worth of
usage. It gets a 3000mAh battery with 5W of a charger in the box which should easily
last an entire day.

With the Android Q, the device is sure to pack some cool new specs such as a new
app timer, Wind Down mode and the improved Do Not Disturb. The device will also
help you monitor your phone use around the day and will turn off all visuals to help
you work without interruptions. Other significant features like Slices and App Actions

anticipate your next move, delivering app integration and shortcuts that help you
accomplish your next task faster and easier than ever before. Furthermore, the
adaptive battery feature limits battery usage from apps you don’t use often.
Availability
The Nokia 2.2 will be offered in Tungsten Black and Steel at an attractive launch offer
for an offer price of Rs. 6,999 for the 2/16GB storage variant and Rs. 7,999 for the
3/32GB storage variant till June 30th, 2019.
The prices after the end of the offer will be Rs. 7,699 for the 2/16GB storage variant
and Rs. 8,699 for the 3/32GB storage variant. The devices will be available offline and
online on Flipkart and Nokia.com starting 11th June 2019.
