Nokia Announces its Nokia 1 Android Go handset and the Nokia 8110 at MWC 2018

The World’s biggest consumer technology show MWC 2018 has already been started and Nokia has taken a step forward by announcing a couple of its new devices including the most stunning Nokia 1 and the Nokia 8110. The two devices offer limited features and are targeted to the budget-oriented community, so without wasting any time let’s check out the detailed specifications and pricing of the two devices.

Nokia 1

As suggested by the leaks earlier, it is an Android Go-edition device and offers a totally different ecosystem which has been optimized to work rapidly even on a low powered hardware. It comes powered by a MediaTek MT6737M Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.1Ghz coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM and a Mali-T720 MP GPU is there for handling gaming. It offers 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB’s via micro-SD card. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go-edition and as per Nokia, it provides a complete stock experience.

In the front, it packs a 4.5(inch) FWVGA IPS Display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. In the Camera department, there is a 5MP fixed focus camera with a LED flash in the rear and in the front, a 2MP snapper is present for selfies. The devices house a 2150mAh battery and offer all standard connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, FM-Radio, GPS, etc. The pricing has been kept at $85(roughly around 5,500 INR) and it will be officially available to buy from April in the Dark Blue and Warm Red colour variants.

Nokia 8110

 

It is the most divergent smartphone Nokia has announced at the press conference in Barcelona. In case you don’t know it carries the design elements from a way old Nokia 8110 device which was first launched long back in 1996. The new 8110 houses a Qualcomm 205 Dual-Core processor clocked at 1.1Ghz coupled with 512MB of RAM. The device offers 4G connectivity which kinda surprises us as not much feature phones are available with this kind of connectivity options. The device runs on Kai OS which makes use of HTML5 apps.

The device offers a 2MP rear Camera with LED flash and no camera is there in the front. It offers 4GB of internal storage and has a 2.4(inch) display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. It offers all standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, FM-Radio, etc. Nokia 8110 houses a 1500mAh battery and a Dual-SIM slot are there which can house 2-GSM sim cards. The device is priced at $79(roughly around 5,100 INR). For more detailed information we have to wait for the launch of respective devices.
