OnePlus will be soon manufactured in India!
OnePlus today announced manufacturing smartphones in India, as teaming up with Foxconn’s Rising Stars factory. The manufacturing process will take place in Sri City Integrated Business City in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This collaboration was formally announced by Pete Lau, Founder & CEO, OnePlus and Vikas Agarwal, General Manager – India, OnePlus along with a special video message from Shri Dr. Palle Raghunatha Reddy, MSc, MPhil, Phd, Hon’ble Minister, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Local production of OnePlus’ upcoming devices will start before end of this year at the 30,000 sq. ft. facility will have a cumulative peak capacity of producing up to 500,000 units per month. The facility will also generate direct employment of over 1000 full time workers, thereby giving further support to the Government’s Make in India initiative.
