OPPO just launched their new OPPO Reno series smartphones in India. The company took the drapes off their new OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10x smartphones at a launch event in Delhi. The Reno series seems to be a new branding initiative targeted towards a new lineage of devices offering attractive design language, shark fin pop-up camera and Notchless displays.
The company launched two devices from the Reno series back in China last month. The flagship among the two being the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition comes with the beefiest Snapdragon 855 chipset while the Reno settles for a moderate Snapdragon 710 chipset.
The OPPO Reno comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) Panoramic display. This AMOLED panel offers a solid 93.1 per cent screen-to-body ratio that is flanked by the latest version of Gorilla Glass 6 and bundles an in-display fingerprint sensor underneath. Back too gets the same treatment of a 3D curved Gorilla Glass 5 and screams premium all over.
The Reno camera unit includes a dual camera setup of 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. It comes with an Ultra Night Mode 2.0 and the usual AI camera goodies like Natural AI beautification, Enhanced Bokeh mode and Dazzle Color Mode. It too comes with a shark fin-like pop-up selfie camera that swivels around in a mere 0.8 seconds and houses the 16MP selfie sensor.
The OPPO Reno shares some similar features with the 10x such as Hi-Res, Dolby Atmos support, Hyper Boost performance through Game Boost 2.0 amongst others. It packs a 3,765mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
Prices for the OPPO Reno is set at Rs. 32,990 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone will be offered in two colors namely Jet Black and Ocean Green and will be available on Flipkart starting June 7.
