Is it real or just a rumour…the Sony Xperia Z3

Sony in News!

Xperia-Z3-D6653-Back-Panel-pic-leakedAccording to @evleaks the image of the latest, so called, Sony Xperia Z3, the successor of the flagship device Z2 to be launched by Sony soon now, has surfaced and increased the hype about the device. @evleaks has confirmed that the specs and features updated by them about the new Z3 are true. The Xperia fans anticipating the new flagship device can now hold down their breath for the launch of the new benchmark by Sony. As far as the specifications are concerned the Z3 is rumoured to be featuring 5.15″ 1080p FHD display with S801 2.4GHz quad core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 20.7MP rear cam and 2.1MP front cam which are the exact specifications like Xperia Z2 except a higher MSM 8974 AC chipset for Snapdragon 801. On the first look of the leaked images the device is supposed to be smoother than the predecessor Z2. Much like the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z2, the alleged successor Xperia Z3 is also tipped to sport a 20.7-megapixel rear camera. It is also said to include a 2.1-megapixel front camera.Xperia-Z3-Side-Panel-pic-leaked

The other leaked image is claimed to show the side profile of the alleged Xperia Z3, sporting rounded edges. The leaked side panel image appears to be of the right panel, and shows physical buttons for camera, power, and volume rocker, apart from housing a flap. The flap can be expected to be a common flap for covering micro SD and SIM card slots. The handset in the leaked image also appears to marginally taller than the Xperia Z2. Leaked specs also suggest a 20.7 MPix rear snapper with something new with camera application that Sony has always delivered. Sony also offers social camera app which sports a wide range of add ons, creative effects and Vine to the camera.

Based on the leaked details the Z3 will also be sporting Android 4.4.4 KitKat but the software features and UI customizations remain unknown. It is also expected that Sony won’t be removing the IP 55/58 certification on the Z3 for dust and water resistance but the speculations also suggest that Z3 sports metal with PVD coating to make the device thinner and sturdier and much more resilient than the predecessors. PVD coating is much more resistant to corrosion, hard impacts, abrasion and scratches which makes it better than the conventional electroplating used earlier.

Sony had confirmed that it would launch a refreshed flagship smartphone every six months, which is the company’s mantra to keep its smartphone up-to-date. Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to be announced at the IFA Berlin 2014 event.
