Samsung Galaxy M31 Launched: Massive Super AMOLED Display, 64MP Quad Camera, 6000mAh Battery and More

After roping in Bollywood diva Parineeti Chopra for flaunting off the new Galaxy M31 on the picturesque island of Minicoy Lakshadweep, Samsung launched this new smartphone in India. This mega monster of a device represents the company’s most successful M-series bet towards earning a strong foothold in the price-sensitive Indian market. The Galaxy M31 smartphone earns its “Mega Monster” title due to its gigantic display, quad-camera setup and a massive 6000mAh battery. Let’s round up the announcement and take a look at the device in question.

The device sports a massive 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ screen, similar to the one we saw on the M30 launched last year. This display panel stands a testament to the fact that users would get crisp imagery and beautiful contrasts ratio to account for a highly immersive viewing experience. The screen is touted to be largely colour accurate and is said to offer better viewing angles for heavy media users. The device packs the latest Exynos 9611 chipset along with the Mali-G72 graphics chip and 6GB of RAM. This spec is adequately powerful to facilitate all daily tasks and activities with sufficient ease. Another department where the M31 shines is the quad-camera setup of 64MP main camera (f/2.0), an 8MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, a 5MP depth lens and a 32MP (f/2.0) lens on the front. This setup combined with features like Super-Steady mode and Night mode enables shooting 4K, Hyperlapse videos, and Super Slo-Mo shots with ease. Although the images posted on the twitter handles of Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor look impressive, we would reserve our comments until we get a chance to review this new device.

Lastly, the battery is upgraded from 5000mAh to 6000mAh to give you an approx. two days’ worth of use or as Samsung claims, 21 hours of internet use, 48 hours of calls over LTE network and 26 hours of video playback. To top this all off there is also support for fast charging via 15W power brick provided in the box. In regards to security, the device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock build into the operating system.
