Samsung Launched S20, S20+, S20 Ultra: Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate, 100x Super Resolution Zoom, Future Ready 5G Support and More

Korean Giant Samsung just announced its new breed of Galaxy S smartphones across the world. The newly announced Galaxy S20, S20+ and the S20 Ultra defines a class of smartphones that come with 120Hz Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display, Supreme camera and the future proof 5G support. Let’s review the announcement and check what Samsung has to offer this time around.

Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+

The Galaxy S20 comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display, while the S20+ comes with a slightly bigger 6.7-inch display. These 2X Infinity-O display comes with a buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate offering a unique proposition in user experience. The smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 865/ Exynos 990 processor with 5G support derived from the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55/ Exynos Modem 5123 chipset depending on the region they are sold across the world. The devices feature an Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint sensor that facilitates quick unlock and enhances security for apps such as Samsung Pay. What remains same is the OneUI 2.0 which runs on top of Android 10 operating system with supplementary apps such as the Bixby and Samsung Health.

The camera setup is somewhat similar with a primary 12MP Dual Pixel sensor, a 12MP Ultra-Wide Lens, a 120-degree field of view sensor and a 64MP Telephoto lens with OIS. The only change between the S20 and the S20+ setup is the added depth sensor on the later one. These smartphones come with a similar 10MP Dual Pixel front-facing camera tucked underneath the Infinity-O design on the front. Samsung has worked hard to make the shots and video extremely crisp (8K) and steady with its new anti-rolling stabilization technology and AI motion analysis algorithm. The smartphones also come with IP68 water and dust rating to give it that extra bit of reliability. The battery is a decent 4000mAh unit on the S20 and 4,500mAh on the S20+, with support for wired 25W fast charging and Wireless PowerShare feature to charge Qi compatible devices on the back of the phones.

Galaxy S20 Ultra

Alongside the S20 and the S20+, Samsung also announced their S20 Ultra smartphone which essentially is the beefed-up version of these smartphones. The S20 Ultra comes with a similar Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display measuring in at 6.97-inches. The RAM is beefed-up to a whopping 16GB, and the camera setup includes a 108Mp primary sensor with OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with 100X Super-Resolution Zoom, a 12MP Ultrawide lens and a depth sensor. The front-facing camera too is more powerful with a 40MP snapper on the front. Running all this tech is a battery that comes in at 5000mAh with 45W fast charging support and PowerShare feature through its Qi compatibility.
