Samsung launches Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in India

Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 EdgeSamsung finally gives the flavour Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to India. The smartphone was announced in MWC 2015 in Barcelona. The Galaxy S6 comes with Octa core processor (4x 2.1GHz Cortex A57 + 4×1.5GHz Cortex A53) Exynos 7420 SoC 64-bit processor boosted by Mali-T760 GPU. The smartphone has 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD 2560×1440 pixels. It has Gorilla Glass 4 protection in front and back panel. The smartphone has 3GB of RAM and optional internal storage of 32GB/64GB/128GB.

The Galaxy S6 comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on the top of it. The smartphone sports 16MP rear shooter with OIS, LED Flash and can record up to 4K video. It sports 5MP front shooter with f/1.9 for taking selfies. It has 2550mAh non removable battery. The smartphone comes with IR blaster, fingerprint sensor and heart rate sensor. Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, IR Remote, USB 2.0, A-GPS and GLONASS.

Samsung also announced Galaxy S6 Edge which is a new variant of Galaxy S6. The smartphone comes with a cool curve edge design which lets the better grip. It is similar to Galaxy Note 4 Edge but that model came with one side curve edge. The smartphone comes with Octa Core (1GHz Cortex A57 + 4×1.5GHz Cortex A53) Exynos 7420 SoC 64-bit support with Mali-T760 GPU. The Galaxy S6 Edge comes with similar specs regarding RAM, memory storage, display and connectivity.  It runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on top of it. It has 2600mAh non removable battery.

It comes with 100GB One Drive cloud storage for 2 years for free. WPC and PMA certified wireless charging technology comes to the GALAXY S6 and GALAXY S6 Edge are setting a new industry standard for universal wireless charging. For 10 minutes of charging user can use it up to 4 hours.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Blue Topaz colours.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Green Emerald colours.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is priced at INR 49,900 (32GB), INR 55,900 (64GB) and INR 61,900 (128GB), while Galaxy S6 Edge is available at a price of INR 58,900 (32GB), INR 64,900 (64GB) and INR 70,900 (128GB).

Pre-booking starts from March 23rd and will be available in market from April 10th for both the smartphones. Airtel 4G will be able to enjoy double data benefit for a period of 6 months, 3G users can avail it for 2 months.
