Tizen 3.0 is the latest OS for Samsung Smartphones

Tizen new OS?

Tizen 3.0_3Samsung has officially announced the features of the Tizen 3.0 OS at the Developer Summit in Seoul, Korea. At the summit, the Tizen 2.2.1 was also announced with new features in security and option to install apps on SD card and firmware download support for USB.org framework test tool and Mac OS X. Main features of the Tizen 3.0 include:

  • Updated Core and ToolChain
  • Multiple user support 64-bit SupportTizen 3.0_1

Till now there is no smartphone available in market which is powered by Tizen OS. Samsung has announced that the NX300M smart camera powered by Tizen OS that is already in sale in Korean market since October. According to Samsung, the Tizen-powered NX300M camera is twice faster in booting as compared to other Linux-based camera in the similar range and can capture images at 20MP resolution, 9 shots per second.

  • 64-bit Support – IA and ARM chips.
  •  Performance improvements.
  • Larger Memory Address space.
  • 3D UI framework – 3D Rendering Engine for 2D and 3D Objects in the real world and Dynamic Animation Library.
  • WayLand based compositor.
  • Crosswalk – HTML5 based application runtime based on Chromium / BlinkTizen 3.0_4
