Vivo has started 2019 exactly where it left off last year… offering meaningful innovation via its well-priced offerings. Its latest smartphone is no different, in fact, it scores even higher on the innovation quotient. Dubbed the Vivo V15 Pro, the smartphone comes with a bezel-less design without the use of any notch, thanks to the inclusion of the pop-up selfie camera. The smartphone also features an impressive camera configuration on the back, with a triple-lens setup. Considering that the imaging capabilities are the highlight of the V15 Pro, let’s take a look at what the photography enthusiast in you get with this smartphone.
The specs
The Vivo V15 Pro is among the rare breed of smartphones that ships with a powerful 48-megapixel camera on the back. The GM1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture is accompanied by two snappers, making the handset the brand’s first offering to come with a triple-camera setup. The 8MP f/2.2 shooter features a wide-angle sensor, while the 5MP f/2.4 snapper captures the depth information. As far as the features are concerned, you get AI Super Night Mode (which combines multiple pictures at different exposures and then stitch them together to offer better clarity in dim settings), AI Body Shaping (lets you get slimmer waistline or longer legs!).
What the cameras are capable of
While a trio of shooters does sound good on paper at least, we’re sure that you must be wondering what all do they enable. Well, the primary camera captures in 12MP by default, it lets you shoot in the original 48MP in the auto mode which is due to the Quad pixel technology. Then there’s the 5MP shooter which ensures that the device is able to offer a good portrait effect, wherein the focus is rightly on the subject and the background is faded. The 8-megapixel snapper, however, deserves a special mention as it features an ultra-wide sensor. The combination allows for some incredible shots depending upon the scene being captured. Of course, add the AI goodness to the capable hardware, and the V15 Pro ensures that you get the best output in every scenario. In fact, considering that most wide-angle shots suffer from distortion issues, Vivo has offered an AI Super Wide-Angle Camera mode to ensure that doesn’t happen.
Camera samples
As they say, “pictures speak a thousand words”, so instead of letting us talk about the imaging capabilities of the Vivo V15 Pro, we’d like you to see that yourself with the camera samples.
While we’ve been impressed with the camera performance of the V15 Pro, it’s worth mentioning that the device is an all-rounder. You get a large 6.39-inch screen up front which features a full HD+ resolution. Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 675AIE processor, which is paired with 6GB of RAM. There’s 128GB storage onboard, which can be extended further with the use of a microSD card. The pop-up selfie camera has an impressive 32-megapixel resolution. A 3,700mAh battery along with dual engine fast charging and all this at an attractive price tag of Rs 28,990, making the Vivo V15 Pro a hard-to-ignore smartphone.
