Xiaomi Premium K-Series Devices Launched: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro starting ₹21,999 & ₹27,999

Xiaomi just launched their new premium K-series smartphones called the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro. This launch projects the company in a completely new avatar and shows the company`s ability to deliver premium specifications at a not so premium price point.

Redmi K20 Pro, the premium among the two packs the latest gen specs like a massive 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, bare minimal bezels measuring just 1.85mm, a stupendous Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 6/8GB of RAM, 8 layers of graphite 3D sheet (for a better heat dissipation), Game Turbo 2.0, Android Pie 9.0.

It comes with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on the back with an 8MP telephoto lens for 2x lossless zoom and a 13MP 124.8° ultra-wide lens. While the front-facing camera comes in shape of a 20MP pop-up selfie camera which the company maintains to be tested over 300,000 times. The in-display fingerprint sensor is unlike any other smartphone as it packs in a seventh-gen sensor with the 3P lens that is equivalent to a 7.2μm macro camera which translates into higher accuracy with lower latency.

The design signature of the phone comes with a unique Aura Prime 3D curved contour with a flame pattern in blue and red, while a Kevlar texture on the black version of the phone. As expected, it comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and the back and packs in a solid 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging. This lets you charge the phone up to 58% in half an hour. However, the company only bundles an 18W of a charger in the box.

Following the launch of the K20 Pro came the launch of the slightly downgraded Redmi K20 smartphone. It too packs the same 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, Android Pie with MIUI 10 and in-display fingerprint scanner, 48-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel 124.8° ultra-wide sensor and a 20-megapixel pop-up front camera. The only change being a downgraded Snapdragon 730 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM.

The design is similar to the K20 Pro with its flame pattern in blue and red with an optional Kevlar gradient texture back on the black variant. It misses out on 27W fast charging support and possess a bit modest 18W charger for topping its 4000mAh battery unit.
