Xiaomi revolution!
At the Xiaomi MI 3 launch at Delhi on 15 July, Xiaomi India also announced the launch of the incredibly successful phone in China that is the Redmi 1S. The co-founder and president of Xiaomi Inc Bin Lin also stated that the Redmi 1S will be launched soon for the anticipated users in India by august. This incredible phone is priced at just INR 6999 which is very price comfy for the Indian users. The phone is incredibly fast responsive and with MIUI the phone becomes even better performer.
Under the hood the Redmi 1S sports a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 clocked at 1.6GHz coupled up with 1GB of RAM. The in-built storage of the phone is of 8GB which can be coupled with more memory by the help of micro SD card to up to 64GB. Adreno 305 graphics processing unit gives an incredible crisp and sharp display on the 4.7-inch HD (720 x 1080p) IPS LCD. The display features 312 ppi breathes life into images. The phone sports 2 SIM slots and one which also supports 3G network. The connectivity options include Bluetooth v 4.0, Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, Glonass, tethering, PC sync and OTA sync. The primary snapper of the device is of 8 MPix with Autofocus, Face detection, ISO control, White balance pre-sets, Burst mode and High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode, with video recording capabilities of up to 1080p HD. The front facing camera is of 1.6 MPix. The phone sports Android 4.3 out of the box optimised with MIUI version 5 but we expect MI India to roll out KitKat upgrades when the phone reaches the Indian consumers. The phone is just 158 grams in weight. Gyroscope, Light sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Electronic compass are some sensors equipped in the device. All of this hardware is powered by a 2000mAh battery which promises one full day of usage.
All of this fascinating hardware is priced at just INR 6999 and the Antutu benchmark score is of a whopping 21620 which is even comparable to some of the flagship phones launched in the past. We believe that the incredible hardware at such an amazing price can hurt the competition badly and it can altogether set a completely new benchmark at this price segment.
This phone has already created a huge buzz and it sells like hot cake in India. I think Moto G and other brands will have a tough battle now.
