ZTE has all hope in Selfie smartphone!

ZTE V5All the Chinese smartphone manufactures already entered in Indian market like Oppo, Gionee and Xiaomi, now it is the time for big giant ZTE to enter the smartphone war. The ZTE V5 is launched in India with affordable price tag of Rs. 9,999 and is on sale exclusively on Snapdeal. The ZTE V5 comes with 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera which makes a huge difference in this range of smartphones.

Design

ZTE V5 is not thin smartphone as you will expect but don’t worry it means it is more rigged and solid body. It has a better build quality. The smartphone has and is polycarbonate. The ZTE V5 has 5-inch screen. And after popping it up the back cover it is all blue inside including the battery. The power or wake up key has metallic touch and is on right side, left side it has volume rocker key with metallic touch. It has a Hollow circle in middle which is Home key, whereas menu is left and back is right capacitive touch which are dots. It has front camera above display and earpiece too. The primary camera is bumped out at the rear end and the two speakers are present on bottom rear end.  The smartphone is in bluish theme.

Hardware and Software

The ZTE V5 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1.2GHz quad core processor powered by Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 4GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It has 5-inch display which has 1280×720 pixels. The colours are vibrant and rich. It has OGS display with Dragontrail glass protection. The viewing angle for display is impressive.

The smartphone comes with 13MP rear camera which comes with Sony Exmor RS sensor and LED Flash. It also has a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. It has 2400mAh battery capacity. It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity as well.

The ZTE V5 is running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Nubia v2.5.1 UI on top of it. The UI lags sometimes and multitasking is not an option with this smartphone. There is no App drawer which means every icons will be on the homescreen, The icons are rounded and animation is good. In the notification bar the quick settings are in bottom which unsual but it very easy to use for large screen. The music player is a stock app works well; it also has preloaded apps like Snapdeal, Screen Projector.

Camera

The camera is the most hype specification of the smartphone. It has three modes Auto, Fun and Pro. The Auto mode is use to take HDR images. The Fun mode comes with filters and Pro mode is for professional kind of photography. The images taken has crisp and nice when capture with distance. It day light the camera works well but in low light it is not impressive. The front facing camera is 5MP which takes good selfie images and smoothens the picture. The video recording is at 1080p which looked and works well at this price range.

Performance

The Antutu benchmark of ZTE V5 is 16519. The Quadrant benchmark of smartphone is 7918. It comes with SRS TruSurround HD which gives a good audio output and gives a better experience. The battery last 12 hours on moderate use, now this is one of the best feature which is hardly found in smartphones.

Gizmo Verdict

The ZTE V5 is available only on Snapdeal for Rs. 9,999. If you want a better camera, nice audio and longer battery life then it is good smartphone. Check the video review of ZTE V5.
