Surface 3 is now cheaper!
Microsoft announced its Surface 3, which is an affordable variant of Surface Pro 3 tablet which was launched last year. The tablet comes with quad core Intel Atom x7 (Cherry Trail) processor with 10.8-inch HD display. The tablet is running on 64-bit Windows 8.1 OS and it will get the Windows 10 upgrade once it will be available. According to the company it is the thinnest and lightest Surface that has ever made. The tablet also gets a LTE variant with built-in nano SIM slot and it also has Microsoft Office 365 one year subscription.
The tablet supports Pen input which is Similar to Surface Pro 3, but the pen is sold separately for $50 in Silver, Black, Blue and Red colours. Other accessories which are available for Surface 3 are Type cover for $120 with different colours and docking station, both will be sold separately.
Surface 3 sports 8MP rear shooter which was earlier 5MP on Surface Pro 3 and similar 3.5MP front shooter. Microsoft says that display would be accurate and multiple viewing angle with clarity. It has kickstand that supports three discrete settings.
The Microsoft Surface 3 gets the starting price of $499 for the 2GB RAM with 64GB memory variant and 4GB RAM with 128GB memory for $599. The Surface 3 with LTE variant priced $599 for the 2GB RAM and 64GB variant and the 4GB RAM with 128GB variant for $699. It will be available in Microsoft Stores, microsoftstore.com and selected retailers, and will go on sale from May 5 and goes on sale in 26 markets worldwide by May 7. The LTE variants will be shipping from June 26th.
