Revolution for India….can the spec heavy Mi 3 boast of it

Why Mi3?

Xiaomi Mi3Mi 3 the commercially superhit product of the “Apple of China”, Xiaomi has hit online exclusive availability on Flipkart few days back. The demand of the product is so huge that it has become a challenge for the supply chain management of Xiaomi and Flipkart. The urge among the users for the new phone is so substantially high that it beats the hell out of the “Tatkal (Instant) ticketing scheme” of Indian Railways. You can book a Tatkal (instant) ticket in the most crowded trains of India, but booking a MI 3 from the Flipkart website is almost impossible. In the most recent restocking of the Mi 3 by Flipkart, the stock of 15,000 handsets was completely booked in just 2 seconds!!!. Flipkart website also crashed frequently meanwhile. By this statistics you can know the hype among the Indian users.

Now coming on to the offering of Xiaomi…the MI 3….whats in the handset that has built such a compelling offer that the users can’t wait to buy the handset. The 5-inch IPS display has an incredible display quality and colour consistency at 441 ppi with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Under the hood we have an impressive 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8974AB coupled up with 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM. The graphics on the device is supported by an Adreno 330 GPU. The internal storage provided in the main board is of 16GB or 64GB (depends on your choice) with no micro SD card slot. . The primary snapper of the device is of 13 MPix which is a five piece lens having an aperture size of f/2.2 and 28 mm width which helps in capturing more light in the photos so that the pictures come life like. The amazing camera is coupled with a dual LED flash. The secondary front camera is of 2 MPix. The primary snapper has the capability to record full HD videos as well. On the connectivity side the device has GPRS, EDGE, 3G (42.2 Mbps HSPA+), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, GPS, A-GPS with GLONASS and micro USB for data sync and charging. The device supports single micro SIM which can be turnoffs for some users, but the incredible specs will get their heat up again. The device has compass/magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and barometer. On the software side, the device runs on heavily customized version of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat, known as the MIUI. The OS as per our use is blazing fast and smooth to operate. The options and preferences in the MIUI are a lot in number yet easy to use. The user forums and other options give a whole range of themes to customize the UI look. All of this hardware and software is powered by a whopping 3050mAh battery which can easily sustain a day of mixed usage. The device is of 73.6x144x8.1 mm dimensionally. Yeah you got that right ….just 8.1 mm. The phone weighs only 145 grams and the curves on the longitudinal edges feel incredibly good at hand. The loudspeaker of the phone is loud enough and has no distortions whatsoever. The MI 3 comes in metallic grey colour for now, but Xiaomi promised to come up with more and more colours in the near future.

Now coming on to the price…By looking at the incredible specs of the device any layman would come up with a price something between 20k to 30k for the MI3. But alas….the MI 3 is available in India for just INR 13,999….! This is the revolution and the intense competition for all the cellphone manufacturers. At the present time the MI 3 beats all and I mean all of the devices at price tags till 15k. The MI 3 even beats down some phones at 20k price segment. Some recent successful phones have also gone to shame by the incredible MI 3. Other mobile companies have now a lot of strategies to be developed and work to be done for competing against the MI 3. We are also looking forward to the launch of the Redmi 1S and Note and a whole lot of accessories by Xiaomi in India in the last week of august.
