What makes it a good smartphone?
Celkon recently announced the launch of their new addition to the Millennia series, the Celkon Millennia Epic Q550. The smartphone has a pretty good offering at its price segment.
Under the hood the smartphone has a 1.3GHz quad core processor which is good at its price point and give decent performance. The 1GB RAM provided gives seamless performance and handles the basic and medium resource consuming apps very well. The smartphone gives very smooth experience. The screen size is of 5.5-inch and displays at resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The colour reproduction in snaps and videos is very good. The vibrancy in colours is great. The touch response is great and completely lagless. The on board storage provided in the smartphone is of 16GB which is very good at the smartphones price point. The storage can be even expanded to 64GB by the help of micro SD card.
The rear camera provided is of 8MP which captures great snaps. The snaps are completely noise free and flash works fine for low light condition snaps. The front facing camera is of 2MP which might seem less but the performance is great. The selfies taken are clear and crisp. On the connectivity front the smartphone has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, micro USB, 3G and dual SIM standby. The smartphone has compass/magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 with Celkon customizations on top. Some bloatwares are present but they won’t bother you much. The performance of the smartphone is not affected by the additional software.
As per our verdict the good build quality, fluidic experience in regular apps and 16GB of on board storage, the Celkon Millennia Epic Q550 is a good buy and gives every penny’s worth. We do have a lot of competitors at that price segment but the performance of the smartphone makes it a robust one and a good buy. The smartphone is available across all leading e retailers and stores and is priced at INR 10000.
