Massive battery packed smartphone!
With the title as fuel, we understand the main theme behind the product is battery. Yes the smartphone comes with huge battery life to give the Android smartphone a boost to run. This is the second smartphone of fuel series after Iris Fuel 50. Lava has made this 4000mAh battery phone, which may not be the biggest but score well in performance. As we know android phones lack the charm of long lasting so it’s a great effort from Lava to give his best. The device comes with the price tag of 8,888 INR.
Look and Feel:
The Lava Iris Fuel 60 is a big body device and because of its larger battery it is bulky as well. It comes with soft matte finish behind the phone that actually helps to grip tightly to use. It comes with 5-inch display and medium length bezels on the display screen that makes it not so handy. Visually the screen is good but not so impressive. Device design is good but the thickness make it a not to likeable device for some peoples. It comes in Black colour.
Hardware and Software:
It comes with 5-inch IPS display with 720×1280 pixel resolution and pixel density of approx. 293 ppi. It has 10.3mm of thickness and weight about 175gm. Screen lacks the Gorilla Glass protection but have a protective glass. Backlit capacitive buttons are given under screen to handle the system. Power button and volume rocker buttons are on the right side.
The device comes with 1.3GHz Mediatek quad-core processor and Mali-400 graphics processing unit. It has 8GB of internal storage which is not quite enough so we can expand it by a microSD up to 32GB and it has 1GB of RAM. Out of the 8GB internal we only get 3.5GB free on device.
It comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with very less customizations, there is no preloaded UI by Lava so it is almost like a Stock Android. It also has an option for tap to wake and it comes with very few preloaded apps like Whatsapp, Twitter etc.
In terms of cellular connection it is a Dual SIM smartphone but can connect to the 3G with only one at a time. It also supports OTG and has connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Camera and Sound:
Lava Iris Fuel 60 comes with 10MP rear facing camera with LED flash and support for full HD recording. Front facing camera comes with 2MP for selfies. The rear camera 10MP captures descent photos in normal mode but not in low light. Colour was good but lens was not able to highlight the quality. Also Camera app is not so friendly, most of the functions are not easy to find. Front facing camera is not so good so it’s not for selfie lovers. Rear camera is able to shoot 1080p videos but quality is not so amazing.
Sound in this device is average, music and video playback is enjoyable. In calls the sound was clear but sometimes we faced some issue. It does not have any sound customization.
Performance and Battery:
The device performs well in daily usage and don’t show any lag. You can multitask in this device and run several apps. Gaming is limited in this device as you can play only simple games like Candy Crush and Subway Surfer. Asphalt 8 is not as enjoyable and show lags.
The Antutu and Standard Quadrant benchmarks are 18228 and 7224 which are decent.
With the 4000mAh battery life it seems to do its work pretty well and give a long standby life. Also with a daily standard usage it was able to last a day and with heavy usage it last for 9-10 hours. It runs around 12 hour in video test.
Gizmo Verdict:
With the price tag of 8,888 INR it seems to be a descent phone and as name as FUEL it fair and square give the strength of a day. So if you are a moderate user and want your device to be long lasting, it is one of the good option in the budget range. The 10MP gives a enhance boost to buy it but can have better quality. So in our verdict it is an average phone, you can buy it but you can find some better in market.
