Mi launched the Redmi 7 in India for starting price of Rs. 7,999

Mi just took the drapes off their latest iteration of Redmi series with the Manu Kumar Jain, Managing Director, Xiaomi India doing the unveiling. The launch introduced the newest Redmi 7 alongside the Redmi Y3 – a selfie-oriented smartphone which was teased through the past few weeks.

The Redmi 7 hopes to fill the void of an aggressively priced smartphone following the Redmi Note 7 series. This launch comes directly in line with the Samsung M series where they battle out to earn the title of the best budget all-rounder smartphone.

The Redmi 7 sports a massive 6.26-inch Dot Notch display on the front with a fingerprint sensor on the back. The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 ensures protection against scratches and unintentional drops. There is an Octa-core Snapdragon 632 powering this device with an optional 2GB+16GB or a 3GB+32GB onboard storage. The back is crafted beautifully with a so-called Aura Smoke design which looks somewhat like back on the Redmi Note 7 series. Camera unit includes a dual setup of 12MP+2MP sensors with an 8MP selfie camera on the front sporting the latest AI beautification mode.

The device is powered by a 4000mAh battery unit which ensures a day worth of average use age. The device also features a P2i Nano coating that makes it splash resistant & a 2+1 card slot that supports 2 Nano sim and an SD Card input.

The Redmi 7 will be offered to start Rs.7,999 for the 2GB+16GB & Rs.8,999 for 3GB+32GB storage and will be available offline via Mi stores and online through Amazon & Mi online from April 29th via sale. It will be offered in three color schemes namely the Lunar Red, Comet Blue, and Eclipse Black.

Mi LED Smart Bulb:

The company introduced its Mi LED Bulb which is essentially a smart IoT bulb that outputs up to 16 million colors and has a lifetime of 11 years. This smart bulb can be remotely controlled via Mi control app or through your voice assistants like Alexa or Google Home. It would begin shipping from April 26 via a crowdfunding campaign through the company`s official page.
