Asus is a big name in motherboard manufacturers, and now in smartphones as well after the Zenfone series is launched. After the success of Zenfones, Asus has launched another one in this criteria named as Zenfone 2. The USP of the phone is 4GB of RAM which can be quite catchy for the customers.

Let’s discover what Asus Zenfone has to offer:

Design:

The Zenfone 2 is a 5.5-inch screen full HD display and quite a handful. The thickness of the phone is good enough to make you feel you have something in your pocket. As per the size is concerned, its slightly lesser than the iPhone6. Like the other Zenfones, this piece is also clad in plastic however, it has opted for a metallic look and look more premium at first glance. The back cover is replaceable and comes in different colors like Red, Gold, Black, White and Grey. The touch sensitive buttons are located at the down bottom.

At the top you can see the power button which has been changed from the previous designs. Also, the volume buttons are placed at the back of the phone just below the camera. Asus has chosen an odd choice in this scenario as the volume buttons are quite a stretch to reach if you’re holding the phone.

The removable cover at the back when removed, gives you access to the dual SIM and the microSD card slots. The battery is 3000mAh and is non removable. Being a dual SIM phone it allows 4G to be working on just one sim at one time.

Hardware and Software:

The device has been powered by the Intel Atom quad core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The new whooping advantage is the 4GB RAM it comes with, which makes it multitasking as multiple apps can remain working while you work on one. The rear camera is a 13MP which comes with the dual LED flash and the front one is a 5MP good for selfie. The HD display comes with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The viewing angles are wide and the colours are vibrant and bright. It gives you the joy of working under sunlight as well.

The smartphone is loaded with Android 5.0 lollipop however, it has the feeling of Zen UI which has a flat look hence, beauty of Lollipop is hidden. Features such as Do it Later and reminder app will remind you of SMS to reply and the missed calls to be reverted back. As far as the layout is concerned you can play with loads of themes to change and the new feature where you can change the color of the fonts as well. Zen motion has been introduced where drawing a feature on the screen unlocks it and a guest feature where your friend can use the phone without accessing your stuff.

Camera:

Asus has done a great job in terms of camera so far and here in this smartphone as well. The device has a rear camera of 13MP f/2.0 which giver enormous results in low light. Pixel master which is a low light mode imaging, makes the picture clear and vibrant even when there is lesser amount of light. The camera at front is 5MP which is combined with a beautification mode. So you can now tweak your facial expressions as well like smoothening of the wrinkle, blemishes, etc.

Performance and Battery:

As far as the performance is concerned the Zenfone 2 is pretty smooth in the usage and given the 4GB RAM its one good machine. The phone boots up in 44 seconds, and the camera loads instantly. The ZenFone 2 could still be attractive for those who want near high-end performance without being tied to a contract.

The Antutu and Quadrent Benchmark test are 22530 and 45570 respectively as shown in the screenshot.

The Zenfone 2 comes with a 3,000mAh Li-Po unit with support for fast charging tech that will allow you to restore as much as 60% of the total capacity in as little as 39 minutes.

Gizmo Verdict:

If you are looking for a smartphone which is fast, multitasking, has a good camera and good for gaming within INR 20,000. This is a good option.
